Whatsapp payments goes live in India

Facebook has started rolling out its Whatsapp payment service in India after receiving approval from the local regulatory bodies. Whatsapp will use India’s national payment infrastructure, basically known as UPI to make the transactions happen. 

Zuckerberg said, “Now you are going to be able to easily send money to your friends and family through Whatsapp, just as easily as sending a message.”

Spotify expands podcast advertising options

Spotify is expanding its podcast advertising options with a major acquisition of publishing and advertising platforms. The music streaming company acquired Megaphone to expand advertising options for podcasters. Megaphone is used by approximately 20,000 advertisers and publishers. After the acquisition, the company management said:

“We’re excited to announce Spotify’s acquisition of Megaphone, one of the world’s leading podcast advertising and publishing platforms.

The acquisition of Megaphone represents the next step in Spotify expanding the possibilities of this intimate and screenless medium.”

Twitter releases events calendar for November
